The Ground Higher started in 2006 by a group of local, Christian business people from various churches across the island of Oahu, with a mission of “building great businesses for a greater purpose.” Although there are many networking opportunities out there, the founders wanted to create a group anchored in the concept of stewardship. Stewardship means that God owns the business and you are stewarding His company. And so The Ground Higher was born—an active round-table experience for business owners in Hawai'i looking for deeper fellowship, understanding and clarity in their life-purpose and in their business.
In early 2020, The Ground Higher transitioned into a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and expanded our mission to disciple the nations, through business owners. Hawai'i is uniquely positioned as a global crossroads and melting pot, with multiple ethnic groups living and working together. Business owners have a tremendous impact on the lives of their employees, customers, neighborhoods, cities, and nations.
For the past eighteen years, The Ground Higher has provided to business owners:
1) Tools to grow and succeed in your business
2) How to bring God into your life more personally and into your business
3) Creating community and comraderies with other business owners
4) Giving spiritual guidance/mentorship to help you discover your Purpose and Calling for your lives.
To qualify for membership with The Ground Higher, applicants must hold a position as a CEO, President, or Owner of a business, with their company generating annual gross revenue exceeding $1 million and employing three or more full-time staff. However, certain professional businesses falling short of the $1 million revenue mark may still be eligible; so we encourage you to reach out to us for evaluation. Additionally, we offer assistance with membership dues for new members who meet our criteria and pass our interview process.
